Gear Up For Summer at Mettler
Greetings! Mettler Center is pleased to announce that our new equipment, which include four treadmills and three ellipticals, has finally
arrived! Your response to the new equipment has been overwhelming, and we
really appreciate your support.
We're well aware the equipment
was to be delivered in January, and we'd like to apologize
for any inconveniences and frustrations this may have caused. Several part suppliers for Star Trac went out of business, and many OrthoTech
(our distributor) shipments were delayed.
We were in contact with the OrthoTech president throughout the process, and he
also expresses his apologies for the delay in getting our new equipment to us.
We hope you'll stop by the Mettler Center in the coming weeks to try out
our new equipment as you continue on your journey to Whole Life Fitness.

High School Students Get Ahead at MAHigh school athletes looking to get a jumpstart on fall sports can work out with the coaches at Mettler Athletic. Designed for young competitors, Mettler's conditioning programs develop
the whole athlete, teaching agility and stamina alongside strength. Each program also focuses on technique. Our coaches assess the demands that your specific sport makes on your body and target those areas.
Progressive
conditioning adds strength and stability to key joints and muscles to
get athletes
ready for the season's wear and tear. Additionally, our coaches teach movement mechanics,
injury prevention, and flexibility. Mettler's approach is integrated
for the
total athlete, so you'll boost your performance no matter your sport,
gender, or ability level. Each of our coaches is a former college or professional athlete in the sport which he or she coaches. Each of our coaches is a great teacher who has experience working with athletes of various ages. Each of the following sports performance

Kids Programs Teach Fitness and NutritionExercise and nutrition are an important part of your
child's life. By teaching healthy living early, you equip your children with the tools to help them create healthy habits that they can carry into
their adult lives. Kinetic Kids ProgramKinetic Kids is a four-week long youth fitness program that teaches kids that physical exercises can be fun. Classes
include warm-ups, stretching, strength training, and aerobic games. All
children receive a fitness assessment and testing. Kinetic Kids is designed to fit both the physical and emotional readiness of each child who participates and helps promote self-confidence and self-esteem through exercise. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1pm. Sessions are June 15 to July 8 and June 20th to August 12. For more information, please call Mettler Athletic at 398-9800. Kids Can Cook Camp Kids Can Cook is a week-long, healthy cooking and fitness day camp for kids. In this hands-on experience children learn about healthy eating from County Market's very own nutritionist. Children then apply this new-found nutrition knowledge in the kitchen not only learning healthy cooking techniques, but also preparing a nutritious kid-friendly lunch with our Mettler Cooking School staff. And because a healthy lifestyle includes exercise, children participate in age appropriate physical activity led by a Mettler FitForce Staff. Camp Dates are June 21-25 and July 19-23. Junior Chef Camp will run August 3-5. For more information call Mettler Center at 356-6543.

Nutrition Tip of the Month
Did you know that snacking is on the rise? Seventy-five percent of men and women eat at least one snack a day. When choosing a snack, remember that what you eat and how much is far more important than when you eat. Enjoy some fruits, vegetables, yogurt, popcorn, baked chips, etc., as a healthy snack option. massage therapy school four years ago in Lombard, Illinois, at the National University
of Health Sciences. Jason loves being a massage therapist. It's the
first job he's had which does not feel like work. Seeing and hearing about his clients' positive experiences from
